Myers-Briggs Type Study

This process based project takes the MBTI's type indicators and builds correlating music playlists per each type based on key character words for each type. These playlists become the guid in producing a visual representation of each of the sixteen types. The playlists have a different essence or aura because they began an searches for songs based in the MBTI descriptions of individuals. The playlists act as a vehicle of standardization to how the work is produced.

The end results are created from my collection of 3000+ cellphone images. The images include a wide range of content from an exploration into how having a camera in your pocket is changing our society. The types of images each individual captures and shares, when a camera is with someone 24/7, is as unique as that individual. The digital and physical world is bombarded with increasing visual noise and with that comes a requirement to navigate this highly customizable digital experience. Digital images have changed how we consume and reflect on photography and this research acts not only as a visual Myers-Briggs study but investigates ways to navigate complex masses of information.

The installation of the work includes an Arduino based interface that allow a view to listen to each playlist represented by the art work on the wall. In the future this could be augmented but for now is a case study on experiential data combined with fine art.
